This took quite a while to finish, but I was hooked as soon as I finished the first chapter. Super complex and you get to follow likes 10 different plot lines at once all across the world and neither you nor any of the characters know who all the players are or what their goals are until the very end. The fact that this is one of the shortest books in a 10 book series scares me because I know I have to read all of it but it sounds daunting. Would strongly recommend only to people who have read a lot of fantasy.

Loved it way more than the first time. And I already liked it the first time. The world and people are amazing. I get the criticism that β€œIf everyone is powerful and awesome no one is” but that is a stupid thing dumb people say. Incredible writing, incredible character work, perfect complex fantasy book. Feels like a final boss in a good way.
