I had completely forgotten most of this book from the first time, which helped me enjoy it more. Not something I would ever reread if I remembered it and it probably got a score boost because it came after a piece of garbage turned into a book, but it is written well, good pacing, and solid character work. My biggest qualm is that in progression fantasy we want to see the main character progress, but Corrin honestly doesn’t ever feel like he gets that much more powerful.
