I went into this with very low expectations because the cover says “He can summon demons, but can he win a war?” which sounds stupid. It started out pretty normal but then turned into more of a Harry Potter-esque academy fantasy which I wasn’t expecting at all. It had some really good discussions about race through the context of humans, elves, and dwarves. Honestly a really good book.
