Started off strong then consistently got worse throughout the book. Author tried to make too much happen without putting enough time into worldbuilding or side character development. People kept dying before we became invested in them, a couple of plot holes or highly unlikely events. Will not be continuing the series, but the prose was good so I am still excited for the other Anthony Ryan book (Blood Song?)
