Happy Endings can be good I guess. Lindon and his friends, with the help of the monarchs emriss silentborn and Sha Miara, force Northstrider to ascend, and kill Malice and Reagan Shen, and then all the dreadgods. No one dies. Lindon has to stay on Cradle for an extra 2 years due to his dreadgod body. In the sky, Makiel the Hound sacrifices himself to kill daruman and save Ozriel (Eithan). They form a new division, the reapers, and go around saving worlds. Happy ever after.
