There were parts of this book I really enjoyed, I like it started out fairly mundane but slowly brought in more and more fantastical elements. I wish they had spent more time focusing on Rin in school. And the setting and worldbuilding are quite interesting. But then there were sections that were either too rushed and boring, and the sections about Golyn Niis were honestly so disgusting and vile it solely dropped the book down a lot. "The Poopy War" if you are feeling vulgar.
